Wood takes a lot of punishment from mother nature, and also our enjoyment of features like a deck or patio.
If you have installed a new Deck, Patio or Fence, chances are that you were advised to apply a finish the following year once it has adapted to its permanent environment. This finish generally is stain, however oil may also be used depending on the type of wood that has been installed.
Have an existing deck, patio or fence? Reapplication for most stain and paint is necessary after 2 to 3 years.
Although pressure treated lumber will be rot resistant for many years, the surface becomes bleached from the sun, and cracks may form. Applying stain will add a protective layer to the surface which will prevent cracking and fading.
If you’re looking for a first application to protect and enhance the look of your new structure, or maintain and restore the appearance of an existing structure, we are happy to help!

Dethatching
Thatch is the layer of living and dead organic matter that collects between the grass stems where the stem meets the soil. If thatch gets too thick, water, oxygen, and nutrients won’t be able to reach the soil efficiently impacting the health and growth of your lawn.
Dethatching is the process of breaking up and reducing the thatch layer to allow for water, oxygen, and nutrients to reach your soil more efficiently.
Dethatching & Aeration, what is the difference?
Dethatching differs from Aeration as it works on the top of the soil, and removes part of the thatch layer that blocks water, oxygen, and nutrients.
Aeration breaks through the thatch layer while removing plugs of soil. Aeration does provide some dethatching, and can be paired with a dethatching service to maximize the benefits to your lawn!
